Spiraea Japonica Little PrincessOval, pointed, small, mid-green leaves from spring through summer until they fall in autumn. Bright clusters of small, pink flowers in mid-summer. Useful for mixed or shrub borders. Can be grown in large containers for patio and terrace use. If planted 50cm (18 in) apart in a single line makes an attractive, very low, informal hedge. Height and Spread in 10 Years: 40cm x 80cm (15 in x 2ft 3 in) Position: Tolerates full sun to light shade on a wide range of soil conditions. Planting: Soak the root-ball before planting. Plant in a hole x2 the diameter of the root-ball or pot. Mix an organic soil improver and general fertilizer with the infill soil. Water regularly until established. Plant Care: Three years after planting, in early spring, remove one in three of the shoots to near ground level, choosing the oldest. This will, in turn, maintain a good display of foliage and autumn colour growth. WAS €7 now €6 |
